Four bathrooms in two different houses, belonging to two different generations: a mother and her daughter.
'They captivated me on multiple levels. At first glance, they showcase how beautifully three materials—wood, resin, and stone—can be combined, even though they're often seen as rivals.
At the same time, these spaces reflect the bond between this mother and her daughter. Despite differences in some details, like the colors, they share a common style.' Giorgia (Resingroup photographer)
The bathrooms were created using our decorative resin, Materigi. Looking closer, this process is characterized by a troweled, textured finish that feels substantial to the touch.
But how is a Materigi coating applied?
Here are the steps for the application process:
- Adhesion primer
- Smoothing with epoxy resin and a dusting of neutral quartz
- Materigi layer
- Second Materigi layer
- Single-component colored polyurethane gel applied with a trowel
- Water-based transparent polyurethane finish applied with a roller
In one of the bathrooms, the Materigi coating was chosen for both the floor and wall surfaces, creating a walk-in shower effect that feels like a true spa. The result is not only visually stunning but also a dream for those who want a bathroom that's easy to clean, with no grout lines to worry about.
